Job Title: Workday Test Lead
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates in Columbus, OH area; may require on-site sessions 1–2 times per quarter in Columbus, OH and/or Merrillville, IN)
Period: Now – January 30, 2026
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $60–$65/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only (no visa sponsorships or subcontracting)


Scope of Services

We are seeking a seasoned Workday Test Lead to oversee testing efforts for a Time and Attendance Modernization Project within a large utilities organization. This high-impact role will manage all phases of testing—from planning through execution—for the Workday Time and Attendance module. The ideal candidate will bring deep Workday testing experience, excellent leadership and collaboration skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive Test Plan across functional and technical testing teams.
  • Define test strategies aligned with the PMM (Project Management Methodology) requirements.
  • Ensure test resources (personnel, tools, processes) are properly aligned and prepared.

Test Development & Execution

  • Manage the creation of test scenarios and scripts for unit, integration, regression, performance, and UAT.
  • Oversee manual testing and identify areas for automation.
  • Write and maintain test automation scripts using UFT, Gherkin, Ruby, Jenkins, or Cucumber.

Defect & Risk Management

  • Maintain defect logs and lead regular defect triage meetings.
  • Provide daily program-level testing metrics and weekly status updates.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases and track issue resolution.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with business leads, HR, IT, and Workday SMEs to understand end-to-end business processes.
  • Ensure data needs are met for testing and that application/security requirements are adhered to.
  • Complete all PMM-required documentation and participate in stakeholder meetings.


Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of QA/Test Lead experience (minimum of 4–6 years for Analyst-level roles)
  • 5+ years of experience specifically testing Workday (Time and Attendance strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and QA best practices
  • Experience managing testing in large-scale HRIS or ERP implementations
  • Deep familiarity with tools including ALM, Jira, ServiceNow
  • Experience with Performance Center for performance testing and UFT/Gherkin/Cucumber for automation testing
  • Working knowledge of SQL to extract and validate test data
  • Experience in utilities or large enterprise environments strongly preferred

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field required
  • Workday certification is a plus
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is preferred
  • PMP or ITIL v3/v4 certification is a plus
