Rate: $64/hour
Duration: 6 Months (Strong Potential for Extension)
Contract Type: W-2 Only (No C2C or Visa Sponsorships)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support a large-scale Oracle NMS (Network Management System) implementation for a leading utility provider. This role is remote but may involve occasional on-site collaboration in Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN. The ideal candidate will have experience designing training for operational or field-based employees within the utilities sector, and a strong background in creating performance-based learning materials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-user training for Oracle NMS as part of a major ERP implementation.
  • Create engaging, role-based instructional materials, including PowerPoint presentations, job aids, performance support tools, and knowledge checks.
  • Develop microlearning videos and other digital learning assets to support practice-based learning.
  • Translate complex system processes into clear, practical steps for field and operational staff.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, training leads, and change management stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and user needs.
  • Apply instructional design best practices focused on utility and field operations environments.
  • Deliver scalable and repeatable training solutions for deployment across business units.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of instructional design experience, with a strong emphasis on systems training.
  • Prior experience supporting Oracle NMS or similar ERP system implementations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within the utilities industry or supporting field/operational employee training is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in developing practice-based learning content, including job aids, microlearning, and performance support tools.
  • Strong communication, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and eLearning development tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia, etc.) is a plus.
