Rate: $30 - $40/hr
Duration: 6 Months (with possible extensions)
Contract Type: W2 Only (Must be Authorized to Work in the U.S.)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Renewables Vegetation Management Supervisor to lead seasonal vegetation management activities across renewable energy sites. This individual will supervise union craft personnel operating a fleet of landscaping equipment, ensuring the work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise union craft personnel managing vegetation using zero-turn mowers, tractors, bush hogs, and Tool-Cats.
Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce all safety regulations.
Ensure all vegetation activities are executed per environmental permits and standards.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs with fleet teams and third-party vendors.
Oversee project schedules, determine when overtime is required, and manage multiple sites concurrently.
Administer productivity guidelines, union agreements, and company policies.
Train and evaluate employees on safe equipment usage, maintenance practices, and standard procedures.
Collaborate closely with Renewable Maintenance Supervisors.
Monitor equipment and assist with troubleshooting to ensure reliability.
Conduct regular, documented safety observations.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
4–6 years of experience in landscaping, vegetation management, industrial maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience supervising unionized labor.
Working knowledge of electrical systems.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and performance standards.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across various renewable sites.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Familiarity with PV/Solar or renewable energy sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal training or prior experience in power plant, industrial operations, project management, or maintenance supervision.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance processes.
Experience managing or coordinating with maintenance contractors or third-party vendors.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves field supervision and may require physical activity in outdoor environments.
