Location: Alameda, CA (100% Onsite)
Period: 05/26/2025 to 12/31/2025 (Possibility of extension)
Hours/Week: 40 hours (Overtime paid at time and a half)
Rate: $30/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only (U.S. work authorization required)

 
Position Overview

We are seeking a Training Specialist to join our Training Effectiveness Team. This role will play a key part in evaluating, improving, and supporting the delivery of effective training programs across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, training evaluation, and data analysis, with the ability to translate findings into actionable insights and performance improvements.

 
Scope of Services

The Training Specialist will:

  • Partner with the Training Effectiveness Team and Review Board to assess and improve training programs
  • Support the design and implementation of training evaluation tools
  • Conduct training evaluations, needs assessments, and analyze training impact data
  • Develop skills assessments, job function competencies, and performance feedback tools
  • Perform data reduction, analysis, and prepare visual reports and metrics to communicate findings
  • Support on-the-job training (OJT) assessment and evaluation processes
  • Assist in human resource development and the application of learning strategies to real-world environments

 
Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps and opportunities
  • Design and implement evaluation tools, tests, and assessments to measure training effectiveness
  • Analyze data to support continuous improvement in training programs
  • Develop and deliver reports, graphs, and presentations highlighting training outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training strategies with organizational goals
  • Provide guidance on skills implementation and performance feedback mechanisms
  • Support OJT processes, ensuring assessments are effective and aligned with job requirements
  • Present findings to stakeholders and provide recommendations for improving training outcomes
  • Maintain clear documentation of methodologies, results, and improvement actions

 
Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Experience in instructional design and training development
  • Strong background in training evaluations, needs assessments, and effectiveness measurements
  • Ability to develop skills assessments and feedback mechanisms
  • Experience with OJT assessment and evaluation
  • Knowledge of human resource development practices
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyze data, reduce findings into actionable insights, and create visual presentations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organization
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic work environment
