Location: Chicago, IL
Onsite: 5 days/week - 100% onsite
Duration: 4/21/25 to 7/31/25 (strong possibility of extension)
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $55-$65/hour
Contract: 1099


Scope of Services:

Experienced and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to lead the documentation efforts within our Compliance department. This role is responsible for capturing all processes and work types performed by the compliance team and translating them into clear, standardized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids. Candidate will also build and maintain a centralized documentation library to support consistency, audit readiness, and team training.


Role, Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Process & Workflow Documentation

  • Partner closely with Compliance leadership and subject matter experts to identify, map, and document all existing compliance-related processes and workstreams.
  • Ensure all documentation reflects actual practices, regulatory expectations, and internal policy standards.
  • Break down complex workflows into clear, logical steps that can be easily understood and followed.

 
Development of SOPs & Job Aids

  • Create standardized, well-structured SOPs for each compliance process and task.
  • Develop job aids, quick reference guides, and process summaries to support day-to-day operational needs.
  • Maintain consistent formatting, tone, and terminology across all documents to support readability and usability.

 
Documentation Library & Governance

  • Design and implement a centralized repository (physical or digital) for all compliance documentation.
  • Establish version control, approval workflows, and review/update cycles to ensure ongoing accuracy.
  • Ensure documents are accessible, searchable, and organized in a way that supports team productivity and audit-readiness.

 
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Work closely with compliance officers, analysts, and leadership to ensure documentation captures nuances and regulatory relevance.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for all documentation-related needs within the compliance function.
  • Provide guidance and structure to SMEs contributing to documentation efforts.

 
Improvement & Best Practices

  • Identify gaps, redundancies, or inefficiencies in current documentation and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance documentation meets internal standards and is aligned with industry best practices.


Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, compliance, or documentation-heavy roles.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory or technical content into accessible documentation.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Visio).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple documentation efforts simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with document control, audit trails, and compliance documentation standards.


Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, English, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Certifications in technical writing, business analysis (e.g., CBAP), or compliance are a plus.
