Rate: $45 - $55/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only, no visa sponsorships or subcontracting
Scope of Services:
Our client is seeking a Senior IT Analyst with expertise in Telecom Expense Management (TEM) to oversee financial operations related to telecom services, ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. This role will manage budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking, and vendor relationships while collaborating with the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) provider, Tangoe, external vendors, and internal IT teams.
The Senior IT Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing telecom-related expenditures, monitoring contracts, and improving financial and operational processes. This position requires a strong background in telecom financials, cost analysis, and service provider management.
Responsibilities:
1. Telecom Expense Management & Financial Oversight
- Prepare and execute monthly financial activities for telecom services, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
- Conduct budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost optimization related to telecom expenses.
- Ensure all telecom transactions are reconciled, accurately recorded, and categorized within financial systems.
- Review invoices for billing errors, discrepancies, and savings opportunities through detailed financial analysis.
- Process monthly telecom expense forecasts and track net new adds/disconnects.
- Manage invoice accuracy and ensure timely payments to vendors while addressing telecom usage disputes.
- Work with telecom vendors to identify and resolve discrepancies in billing and negotiate cost reductions.
- Track service provider contract amendments, changes, updates, and maintain accurate records.
2. Telecom Operations & Vendor Management
- Maintain a telecom inventory database (MACD: Move, Add, Change, Disconnection) for all telecom services.
- Manage wireless order management, ensuring seamless transitions for employees.
- Monitor outsourced contract performance and compliance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Initiate RFP/RFQ processes for network services, assisting in negotiations and contract management.
- Perform audits to ensure contract compliance, invoice accuracy, and cost savings opportunities.
- Implement process improvements to streamline telecom expense management and vendor coordination.
3. Technical & Process Improvement
- Work collaboratively with internal IT teams and managed network service providers to improve service delivery.
- Utilize Telecom Expense Management Solutions (TEM) such as Tangoe to optimize costs and processes.
- Develop and execute cost-saving strategies, analyzing trends in telecom expenses.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, State, and Federal regulations).
- Leverage ServiceNow for tracking service requests and telecom issues (preferred experience).
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Knowledge & Experience
- 3-4 years of experience managing telecom financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Telecom Expense Management Solutions (TEM) such as Tangoe.
- Experience in wired and wireless expense management, invoice reconciliation, and vendor coordination.
- Strong knowledge of data and voice networks, telephony infrastructure, and network terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) for financial reporting and documentation.
Business & Operational Skills
- Experience working in an outsourced IT environment and managing third-party service providers.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting abilities to track and control telecom expenses.
- Ability to identify contract and service provider issues and facilitate resolution.
- Process improvement experience, leveraging best practices (ITIL, Six Sigma, LEAN).
- Familiarity with ITSM and project management methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ServiceNow for tracking and managing IT service requests.
- ITIL certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including process analysis and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial and technical data for non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
