Rate: $60 - $70/hr
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid: Onsite Tuesdays & Wednesdays; Starting September 2025, Onsite Tuesday - Thursday)
Contract Duration: 1 Year (Temp to Hire)
Contract Type: W2 (Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; No Sponsorships, No F1-OPTs, No C2C, No 1099)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Project Controller to join client's our team, responsible for IT project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and vendor management. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting and/or financial background, with expertise in budget forecasting, accruals, invoice tracking, and vendor purchase order management.
This position will work closely with business partners, vendors, and service providers in a matrix organization to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency for IT projects.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Budgeting
- Develop and maintain IT project forecasts, including present estimate creation and monthly updates.
- Perform monthly project accruals and reclassification entries.
- Analyze and communicate financial trends to IT leadership.
- Monitor, track, and approve invoices, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders through Ariba.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Manage vendor relationships by ensuring timely processing of invoices and tracking payments.
- Utilize ServiceNow Program Management Module for project financial oversight.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, vendor agreements, and procurement policies.
Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation
- Assess financial risks and escalate issues as needed to minimize business disruptions.
- Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and present financial reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related business discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- 5-7 years of experience in financial project management, budgeting, or vendor management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrix organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Foundational understanding of contracts and their financial implications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Program Management Module.
- Hands-on experience with Ariba for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice management.
