Job Title: Project Manager 
Location: Westbrook, ME – 3 Days Onsite – Local candidates only
Period: 10/14/2024 to 03/14/2025– Strong possibility of extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours – Hours over 40 will be paid at time and a half
Rate: $40 – $50/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only

Scope of Services:

The Operational Excellence Project Manager will oversee the development and sustainability of work streams within the site. This role involves leading strategic projects that improve margins and drive business outcomes, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Project Manager will mentor key stakeholders in various continuous improvement methodologies, act as a change agent, and challenge the status quo respectfully. Responsibilities include preparing project plans, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement key strategic projects that significantly enhance site performance and profitability.
  • Develop implementation plans, conduct risk assessments, and verify financial benefits.
  • Own and facilitate site Continuous Improvement (CI) projects; mentor stakeholders on CI methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management tools.
  • Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking progress, and resolving issues.
  • Communicate project status through reports and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Share project management expertise and mentor junior project leaders.
  • Participate in external project management organizations to stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Interface with senior management and coordinate activities across organizational units.

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, with comprehensive knowledge of the functional area.
  • Minimum of 4 years applying Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence tools.
  • Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing operations, business improvement, or project management.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, etc.) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Knowledge of applicable standards for a regulated environment preferred.
