Location: Scarborough, ME – Onsite – Local candidates only
Period: 09/16/2024 to 12/31/2024 – Strong possibility of extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours – Hours over 40 will be paid at time and a half
Rate: $35 – $40/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only

 
Scope of Services:

The Project Manager I will manage and direct activities and personnel associated with small to large-scale projects, focusing on non-IT business applications and disciplines. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of single or multiple, multidimensional, mission-critical projects through the Full Project Life Cycle. This role involves collaborating with project sponsors, business units, and users to define project scope, develop project initiatives, and implement project requirements. The Project Manager will also be responsible for guiding and monitoring project staff, ensuring project success, and delivering quality project solutions within defined budgets and timelines. Additionally, the role requires tracking, reporting, and presenting project status to management and stakeholders, and assisting Program Managers as needed.

 
Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:

  • Expertise and Problem-Solving Duties:
    • Coordinate input from multiple areas with assistance from manager.
    • Clarify project objectives and strategies, develop timelines and milestones with assistance from manager.
    • Develop a preliminary implementation plan.  Propose contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events.
    • Able to write a design and development plan as required by QA/RA.
    • Translate project goals into project tasks.  Define the nature of the stated business or technical problem.
    • Resolve current issues, learn, and adjust based on prior results.
    • Recognize the broader implications of actions and proposals on the final project outcome
    • Prepare and present project progress reports to keep management and team informed. Identify problems and work to resolve them.
    • Analyze date for true causes of problems.
  • Accountability/Required Supervision:
    • Negotiate schedules, milestones, and resource requirements to meet project outcomes.
    • May function as the project contact with third party vendors.
    • Accountable for the successful completion of project tasks under direct or matrix control.
  • Leadership Activities:
    • Solicit the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions in a tactful and persuasive manner.
    • Lead others in the completion of project tasks.
    • Assist in the decision-making process.
    • Creates a work environment that supports team effectiveness.
  • Level of interpersonal skills:
    • Interface with other disciplines, customers, internal clients, and project staff
    • Prepare and present written and oral reports and other presentations. Adjusts presentation style and content to suit the audience.


Experience:

  • Experience Range: 1-6 years of experience in project management, preferably in managing non-IT business applications.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects through the full project life cycle, with a focus on quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership: Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
