Period: 09/23/2024 to 08/31/2025 – potential for extension or direct hire
Hours/Week: 40 hours (Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half) 
Rate: $100 - $110/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only

 
Scope of Services:
The SAP Technical Project Manager will lead the hardware migration of multiple SAP systems from HP Unix to Linux platforms on Dell Powerflex servers. This role involves managing the entire hardware upgrade process, coordinating with application teams (Functional, Basis, and Database), infrastructure teams (OS, Storage, and Networking), and external vendors to ensure successful project execution.

The SAP Technical Project Manager is responsible for developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the project stays on schedule and within budget. The role requires a deep understanding of SAP systems, hardware migration processes, and the ability to effectively manage and communicate with diverse teams. The PM must assess and evaluate risks, proactively addressing potential issues to maintain project timelines. Additionally, the PM will provide regular updates to senior management, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.

This role demands strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The PM will also be responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and align with business objectives.

 
Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the hardware migration project for multiple SAP systems, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed according to the approved timeline and budget.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with various teams (Functional, Basis, Database, OS, Storage, Networking) and external vendors to align project goals and ensure seamless execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to both technical teams and senior management, ensuring alignment and understanding across all levels of the organization.
  • Process Optimization: Work closely with technical teams to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve overall project efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards, conducting thorough reviews and assessments to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, risk assessments, and status reports, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Project Closure: Oversee the final stages of the project, including the transition to operational teams, ensuring that all project objectives have been met and that there is a clear plan for post-project support.

 
Experience:

  • 12+ Years of Experience: Extensive experience in hardware migration of SAP systems, particularly from HP Unix to Linux platforms on Dell Powerflex servers, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Project Management: Proven track record in managing OS-DB migration projects, with a focus on SAP systems.
  • Risk Management: Strong ability to assess project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration and partnering skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external vendors.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely to senior leaders.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of infrastructure environments, service requirements, and SAP systems.
  • Education: Degree in IT and/or a complementary business degree.
