Job Title: Senior Engineering Project Manager

Location: Wheatfield, IN (100% Onsite)

Duration: 3 Month contract (Strong indicators for extensions)

Rate: $60 – $80/hr (W2)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead complex engineering and cross-functional projects from initiation through execution and closeout. This role will oversee scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder alignment while ensuring successful delivery of engineering and construction-related initiatives.

The ideal candidate has strong experience managing technical projects in an onsite, field-driven environment and is comfortable working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering project management

  • Proven experience managing complex engineering or construction-related projects

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)

  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and resource planning

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification

  • Experience in utilities, construction, or industrial environments

  • Experience managing field-based or onsite engineering projects

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and project tracking tools

  • Lean Six Sigma certification

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead engineering and construction-related projects from planning through execution and closeout

  • Define scope, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and plans

Schedule, Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation

  • Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with timelines and financial targets

  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Field & Contractor Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering teams, field personnel, and contractors to ensure project execution

  • Monitor onsite activities and ensure adherence to project plans and safety standards

  • Coordinate across disciplines to resolve field issues and maintain progress

Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide regular updates to leadership and project stakeholders

  • Facilitate meetings and communicate risks, issues, and project status

  • Ensure alignment across engineering, operations, and business teams

Risk, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain project documentation and reporting standards

  • Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned
